Wei Zi was from Chenliu and Wei Zhen’s father; he allied with Cao Cao against Dong Zhuo, died at Xingyang, and is absent from the Romance.

二月，卓聞兵起，乃徙天子都長安。卓留屯洛陽，遂焚宮室。是時紹屯河內，邈、岱、瑁、遺屯酸棗，術屯南陽，伷屯潁川，馥在鄴。卓兵彊，紹等莫敢先進。太祖曰：「舉義兵以誅暴亂，大衆已合，諸君何疑？向使董卓聞山東兵起，倚王室之重，據二周之險，東向以臨天下；雖以無道行之，猶足爲患。今焚燒宮室，劫遷天子，海內震動，不知所歸，此天亡之時也。一戰而天下定矣，不可失也。」遂引兵西，將據成臯。邈遣將衞茲分兵隨太祖。到熒陽汴水，遇卓將徐榮，與戰不利，士卒死傷甚多。太祖爲流矢所中，所乘馬被創，從弟洪以馬與太祖，得夜遁去。榮見太祖所將兵少，力戰盡日，謂酸棗未易攻也，亦引兵還。

卫臻字公振，陳留襄邑人也。父兹，有大节，不應三公之辟。太祖之初至陳留，兹曰：「平天下者，必此人也。」太祖亦異之，數詣兹议大事。從討董卓，戰于荥阳而卒。太祖每涉郡境，辄遣使祠焉。〈《先贤行状》曰：兹字子许。不为激诡之行，不徇流俗之名；明虑渊深，规略宏远。为车骑将军何苗所辟，司徒杨彪再加旌命。董卓作乱，汉室倾荡，太祖到陈留，始与兹相见，遂同盟，计兴武事。兹答曰：“乱生久矣，非兵无以整之。”且言“兵之兴者，自今始矣”。深见废兴，首赞弘谋。合兵三千人，从太祖入荥阳，力战终日，失利，身殁。郭林宗传曰：“兹弱冠与同郡圈文生俱称盛德。林宗与二人共至市，子许买物，随价雠直，文生訾呵，减价乃取。林宗曰：“子许少欲，文生多情，此二人非徒兄弟，乃父子也。”后文生以秽货见损，兹以烈节垂名。〉

Wei Zi, whose courtesy name was Zixu, was from Chenliu and was Wei Zhen’s father. He once joined forces with Cao Cao to campaign against Dong Zhuo; this person does not appear in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms.
Deeds
Wei Zi declined the summons and appointment from the Three Ducal Ministers. When Cao Cao first arrived in Chenliu, Wei Zi met with him and formed an alliance, discussing raising troops to suppress the rebellion.
Wei Zi led three thousand men to join Cao Cao in campaigning against Dong Zhuo. They suffered a defeat in battle at Xingyang, where Wei Zi was killed.
