About Three Kingdoms Odyssey

Three Kingdoms Odyssey is an AI-enhanced interactive map of the Three Kingdoms era: a zoomable map and timeline that connect people, events, places, and polities so history and legend sit side-by-side — every claim cited back to the source text.

What it is

Follow a person's life and relationships, replay a single year's political and military landscape, or browse what happened at one commandery across centuries. Coverage runs from the late Han through Jin reunification. The UI ships in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and English.

Sources and citations

The history layer draws on Chen Shou's Records of the Three Kingdoms (三国志) and Pei Songzhi's commentary. The legend layer draws on Luo Guanzhong's Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三国演义). Both are modeled separately, and a side panel lets you toggle between them. Every AI-generated sentence carries a [c:N] anchor that opens to a specific passage from the source text.

How AI is used

Google Gemini models build the knowledge graph, write modern-Chinese explanations and persona-voiced monologues, and back persistent chat with historical figures. AI synthesis is grounded in injected source passages; it does not invent events absent from the corpus.
