Gao Zuo, Cao Cao's general, was known for raiding Yangping Pass at night with Xie 𢢼, defeating Zhang Lu's army in Hanzhong.

After Cao Cao’s forces withdrew, Cao Cao secretly sent Gao Zuo and Xie 𢢼 to launch a night raid along the treacherous terrain. They routed the defenders, killed their general Yang Ren, and drove Zhang Lu’s army back to Ba Zhong. (According to the historical record)
