Deeds
In the first year of Tianxi, Che Jun was beheaded at his post for failing to collect the tax on fish and salt, and his head was sent around for display in the various commanderies. (Recorded in the histories) The Jiang Biao Zhuan, cited in Pei Songzhi’s annotations, says that Che Jun was an upright and loyal official. When the commandery suffered drought and famine and the people lacked food, he once submitted a memorial requesting relief and loans of grain. Sun Hao, however, believed he was trying to win personal favor and sent men to behead him. (Recorded in the histories)
