Deeds
- In the first year of Baoding, Shi Dan and others gathered several thousand men, seized Sun Qian, Sun Hao’s half-brother and the Marquis of Yongan, and took him out of Wucheng. They also took the ceremonial drums, horns, and curved canopies from Sun He’s mausoleum. By the time they reached Jianye, their numbers had grown to over ten thousand.
- Ding Gu and Zhuge Jing met them at Niutun. Shi Dan and his followers were defeated and fled; after being captured, Sun Qian killed himself. Sun Hao sent men into Jianye, where they killed Shi Dan’s wife and children. (According to the historical record)
- Pei Songzhi’s annotation, Wu li, gives a different account: because the people could no longer endure their lot, Shi Dan gathered over ten thousand men, seized Sun Qian, and intended to install him as their leader. His army was routed by Ding Gu and Zhuge Jing at Jiuli.
