Deeds
- Lady Teng was a kinswoman of Teng Yin, formerly Grand Master of Ceremonies. After Teng Yin’s clan was exterminated, her father Teng Mu was exiled to a border commandery because of his distant kinship. When Sun Xiu ascended the throne and granted a general amnesty, Teng Mu was allowed to return and appointed Gentleman of the Palace Interior in the Five Offices. (As recorded in the histories)
- After Sun Hao was enfeoffed as Marquis of Wucheng, he took Teng Mu’s daughter as a consort; after Sun Hao ascended the throne, he made her empress. (As recorded in the histories)
- Lady Teng’s favor gradually waned, displeasing Sun Hao. Because Sun Hao’s mother, Lady He, often interceded on her behalf, and the Grand Astrologer said that the calendar of the cycles indicated the empress could not be replaced, Sun Hao, who believed in shamans, did not depose her. She continued to be supported in the palace at Shengping Hall. (As recorded in the histories)
- In the fourth year of the Tianji era, Lady Teng accompanied Sun Hao to Luoyang. (As recorded in the histories)
