Xu Yi was a Commandant of Posts. The sources do not record which faction he belonged to or in which chapter he appeared, and the Romance does not mention him.

Deeds

Xu Yi fell ill, and Hua Tuo went to visit him. Xu Yi said that after he had earlier asked the medical officer Liu Zu to insert a needle into his stomach tube, he began coughing and could not lie down comfortably (as recorded in the histories).
Hua Tuo concluded that Liu Zu had missed the stomach tube and accidentally injured the liver. He said Xu Yi’s appetite would diminish day by day and that he could not be saved within five days. Later, events unfolded just as Hua Tuo had predicted (as recorded in the histories).
