Xi Xi was a Secretariat Gentleman and Administrator of Linhai in the state of Wu, mentioned in relevant accounts in the Records of the Three Kingdoms; he does not appear in the novel.

    Deeds

Xi Xi once served as a Secretariat Gentleman and falsely accused He Hui, the magistrate of Wanling. He also accused Xu Can, the envoy ordered to investigate the matter, of shielding He Hui and delaying a decision. Sun Hao sent an envoy to Wanling to execute Xu Can and imprison He Hui; He Hui was later pardoned and cleared of the charge. (As recorded.)

Later, while serving as Administrator of Linhai, Xi Xi wrote to Guo Dan, Administrator of Kuaiji, criticizing the state’s government. Guo Dan reported only the letter and failed to report the matter of the seditious words, and was therefore sent to Jian’an to build ships. The court dispatched He Zhi to arrest Xi Xi. Xi Xi raised troops in self-defense and cut off the sea route, but his retainers killed him and sent his head to Jianye. Xi Xi’s three clans were exterminated. (As recorded.)

Lu Kai called Xi Xi a petty official and pointed out that he was developing the Puli fields in an attempt to revive Yan Mi’s former undertakings, and that this must not be allowed to continue. (As recorded.)
